Barco introduces 3D reconstruction system for use with cone-beam CT scanners

Barco introduces 3D reconstruction system for use with cone-beam CT scanners

In response to the fast growing need for instant imaging of raw cone-beam CT data, medical imaging specialist Barco has introduced a powerful 3D reconstruction system.

Utilizing the latest graphics processing unit (GPU) technology, the new system significantly improves the speed and accuracy of CT image acquisition.

The brand-new 3D reconstruction product, named TDRS-7101, utilizes the computing power of Barco ‘s MXRT-7100 graphics board to deliver real-time reconstructions of raw CT images with uncompromised image quality. In doing so, it markedly improves the performance of cone-beam CT acquisition systems used for dental imaging, radiation oncology and intra-operative imaging.

Barco ‘s TDRS-7101 solution has the additional advantage of offering not only CT reconstruction, but also 3D rendering based on the company’s 3D advanced visualization technology. To further reduce overall system cost, the versatile system can also replace the standard display controller used to display the images. As such, the TDRS-7101 offers a cost-effective ‘three-in-one’ solution for today’s medical imaging applications.

The TDRS-7101 3D reconstruction package includes a high-performance graphics board, a custom Barco driver and the complete SDK (software development kit). This comprehensive bundle allows OEM partners to rapidly and easily integrate 3D reconstruction into their own applications. To ensure seamless support, Barco manages the TDRS-7101 reconstruction system throughout its entire lifecycle.

Barco ‘s new 3D reconstruction system will be demonstrated at ASTRO 2007, booth #1123.

vi3dim 3D Scanner

Vi3Dim have developed a new 3D capture system that could revolutionize the way in which 3D models of real-world objects are created. We have created a program able to build 3D models of textured objects , using only a standard computer and webcam. This allows 3D modeling to become accessible to everybody.

Motion Capture application 3D Character animation & demo reel body suit Huddersfied uni 3d design

3D Design Courses, School of Art, Design and Architecture, visit www.huddersfield3d.co.uk. This video shows the hardware testing and useage for 3D character animation creation used for visualising design into 3D virtual environment Motion capture, motion tracking, or mocap system used here at the Art, Design and Architecture at the University is moven full body system. The process of recording movement and translating the movement onto a digital model is used in game, military, entertainment, sports, 3D animations and medical applications. In filming the human actors use the system to animate digital character models in 3D animation. When it includes face, fingers and captures subtle expressions, it is often referred to as performance capture. In motion capture records only the movements of the actor, not his/her visual appearance. Camera movements can also be motion captured so that a virtual camera in the scene will pan, tilt, or dolly around the stage driven by a camera operator, while the actor is performing and the motion capture system can capture the camera and props as well as the actor’s performance.
