3D modeling has capabilities to allow us to create 3D images that are as realistic as the actual objects. These images are called 3D models. These models are just like a physical model, but these can be rotated on the screen. We can display isometrics or perspectives views from a 3D model, from any angle with a few simple steps.

3D modeling is the process of developing a mathematical, wireframe representation of any three-dimensional object (either inanimate or living) via specialized software. 3D Model can be displayed as a two-dimensional (2D) image through a process called 3D rendering or used in a computer simulation. The model can also be physically created using 3D Printing devices.

3d modeling can be used for 3D Character animation, 3D graphic, 3D background, and 3D logo. Now a day 3Dimension is widely being used along with Computer Design. 3Dimension can be used in Architectural, Mechanical or Structural engineering related projects.

With the help of 3d modeling we can create 3D advertisements, which are more memorable and impressive than ordinary 2D images. Highly realistic 3D drafting images used widely in advertising and entertainment.

Designers often use 3rd Dimension to visualize designs and to make presentations. It helps them understand how an object will appear from different angles. Using additional rendering programs can further enhance the drawings.

3D modeling is usually a separate CADD module that has its own set of functions. Some manufacturers market 2D programs and 3D programs as separate packages while others combine them into a single program.

With the advent of computer technology, it is now possible to create three dimensional models in virtual space, to place lights and cameras at the desired location and to assign color, form and texture to your architectural design to make it look as photorealistic as possible. Photorealistic models may be used for architectural presentations, brochure design and other design clarifications thereby helping our clients perceive ideas. 3D CAD solid models are also useful in training manuals and catalogues.

Drafting is the art of joining lines dimensions symbols and other objects together in order to create drawings that express a design which can only be interpreted in only one way. This design can be used to form many different objects such as houses or buildings in the field of architecture or mechanical parts for automobiles and boats for example. Drafting takes several years to completely master and the field is constantly changing due to software updates on a annual basis. Many people practice this art and usually only work in one of it’s many branches. Some of these sub-branches include architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical and structural. Personally I enjoy working in every field of drafting in order to have a well rounded feel and understanding of every aspect through out it.
I began studying drafting when I was a young man about the age of six or seven. My father taught architectural and technical drafting at my local community college. He had a big drafting table in his office and I remember looking at it, and his drawings which intrigued me. He used to have me do simple drawing in order to sharpen my skills and become a better writer. I wanted to be just like him and design my own house and then build it myself. I really looked up to him and I was going to strive to be just like him.  When I started my Sophomore year in High School they began offering a class called Computer Aided Drafting which I enrolled in immediately because it sounded very interesting. Little did I know that it would become the basis for all drafting in the future. I took all three coursed for my electives over the next two years and gained a very good understanding of CAD before I left High School.
CAD or Computer Aided Drafting and Design takes several years to completely master, and just when you think you know it all they update it with new features you have never seen. Personally it gets kind of frustrating, but all in all it does make it easier to perform and to create the desired design once you get familiar with the software. A lot of people I know in the field never have to change the software they use due to the fact of the high cost, but I try in keep up to date to stay on top of all the new features they incorporate to make the job easier.
There are several different programs for specific branches of the drafting field. One of these is architecture which makes it easier to create walls, windows, roofs and other designs specifically for drawing houses and buildings. Another field of drafting is mechanical which focuses mostly on machine parts for automobiles, boats, airplanes, and just about anything that uses mechanical parts that move to create an object. The electrical field is bound to objects such as circuit boards, or any type of electrical device that is designed. It incorporates transistors, resistors and other electrical objects. The last but not least main field of drafting is the civil field which focuses all of its attention on objects like roads, bridges, or any type of design that is meshed with our natural environment.
I enjoy working with all of these fields and will never hold myself to just one because I feel I need to know all of them equally in order to provide customers with any type of design they might want. The drafting field is constantly changing and being updated to provide drafters with the best tools possible for their design needs. Personally I can’t get enough of  it and will always enjoy designing 2D and 3D models. The drafting field has so many different aspects that it is really hard to fully know all of them, but at least I can try. Digital 3D Design: The Use of 3D Applications in Digital Graphic Design is a compact and visually loaded introduction to 3-D design. With 3-D graphics and animations popping up all over, in movies, computer games, and retail Web sites, many are looking for an entry into this exciting career. But all of the terms, jargon, and applications can be daunting. Author Simon Danaher, an expert in 3-D computer graphics, lays out an accessible and colorfully illustrated guide to it all. His approach will be especially welcome to those already experienced with 2-D paint or vector applications since there are some common themes.

A better subtitle might have been Beyond Shiny Chrome Balls and Neon Skies, because the book quickly takes readers past those fairly basic fantasy-style images and on to more sophisticated modeling. It begins with a bit of history and a brief profile of the major 3-D applications such as Maya, 3D Studio Max, Poser, and many others. The next 60 pages cover core concepts like modeling, spline patches, NURBS, and raytracing. ok well i just found out that i cant take intro into design at my school anymore so now i have to chose between computer science or digital graphics and animation (im a senior in high school)
what im thinking of majoring in probably either computer, architectural, or civil engineering and i really want to chose the right course that would help me in college if say i major in computer engineering (and probably go into designing games like the Sims) but i have no clue which class would be right for me!! can anyone help me??

computer science –
computer science is both a college-prep course for potential computer science majors and a foundation course for students planning to study in other technical fields such as engineering, physics, chemistry, and geology. the course emphasizes programming methodology, procedural abstraction, an in-depth study of algorithms, data structures, and data abstractions.

Digital graphics and animation -
This is an intro course in 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional digital imagery. It will include topics such as digital composition, design principles, raster and vector based 2D graphic design and animation, and 3D modeling and animation. The student will use the computers set of tools, digital cameras and scanners to create and edit digital designs for a wide range of purposes including fine art and art for publication.

about a year ago my computer hangs when ever I play games. either 2D or 3D it will hang at times. I scan My com for virus with a few virus scanner Including AVG norton Bitdefender Macfee. No virus found. Until i got fed up. I format the PC. The problem still exsist. Until today. The problem got worsen. It Can Hang just I reboot my PC. Some times it can hang 5 mins later 10mins or even 15mins but never goes more then 1 hr. The maximum uptime apparently is 1hr at most. same thing I have scan for virus, I did not install any new hardware since i brought my PC 3 years ago. Stats: P4 2.8ghz HT, 1GB ram, Geforce 6600GT, ASUS P4P 800 Mother board. Any EXPERTS here know what are the possiablity that cause such Problems? Maybe You can name all so I can troubleshoot this problem out. Thanks In Advance. = )

Need to add a company logo to an online store front (3d cart). I only have it on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, printed off my printer. I know how to save pictures, but not a logo printed on a sheet of paper. How do I get that logo saved to My Pictures so I can upload it to the 3d cart website?
I saved it to the desktop. Will this work if I scan the page, even though it’s not a picture?
